ASSINIBOIA - The first annual Rec Hockey Tournament was held at the Â鶹´«Ã½AVland Co-op Centre on March 31 to April 2. It was another amazing weekend of reconnecting, visiting, socializing, laughter, cocktails, delicious food and good hockey in Assiniboia.
Excited fans filled the seats to watch hockey during the weekend.
The A pool winners were the Team Bigger Nationals, with Team Bourassa Rats placing second. The B pool winners were Team Tendler, with Team Red Army placing second.
The C pool winners were Team Willow Bunch Tigers, with Team Bucks placing second. The D pool winners were Team Cymric Cyclones, with Team Versatiles placing second.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious pig roast prepared by Â鶹´«Ã½AVland Co-op staff and volunteers that was served on the evening of April 1. The 50/50 winners were Barb Popescu (Friday), Murray McCrank (Saturday) and Jim Tendler (Sunday).
Door prizes were won by Derek Dabrowski and Cruz VandeSype.
