WEYBURN — Paramedic Services Week is a time to show our gratitude and appreciation to the paramedics who work every day to keep us and our communities safe. According to the Paramedic Chiefs of Canada, the theme of Paramedic Services Week is “Faces of Paramedicine”.
This year, it will be celebrated in Canada from May 23 to 29.
In celebration of Paramedic Services Week, we featured local "Faces of Paramedicine".

How long have you served as an EMS?
I started working as a paramedic in January 2020 and have been in Weyburn since.
What do you view as the most important day-to-day responsibilities?
The essential day-to-day responsibilities are to provide safe client care that encompasses cultural safety and compassion to ensure each client has their individual needs met.
What is your favourite kind of community interaction?
I love that community interactions do not have to be scheduled when working this job. We are always in the eye of the public and regularly get to engage with people of all ages, whether we are driving around in our ambulance or grabbing a bite to eat.
Why did you choose a career as an EMS?
Being a paramedic allows you to meet a variety of people every day and positively impact what could be one of someone’s worst days. We are welcomed into people’s homes and provide care as a profession that is constantly growing and expanding.
