The City of Estevan has announced plans for its fall clean-up campaign.

ESTEVAN - The City of Estevan has announced plans for its annual fall Operation Clean Sweep clean-up campaign.

Residents from the City of Estevan can drop off their extra trash and bulky items, free of charge, during the Oct. 14-16 weekend.

The City of Estevan landfill will be open for free drop-off from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 14, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Oct. 15, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Oct. 16.

Residents can bring residential waste, yard waste, construction and demolition debris. Waste from commercial and RM customers will not be accepted for free.

Visitors to the landfill should be ready with valid identification – driver’s licence or an alternative form of government-issued ID – to show proof of residency to the cashier.

All loads are subject to inspection and must be tarped in accordance with the city’s bylaw, which states all loads must be completely covered or secured to prevent littering while in transport to the landfill.

Commercial vehicles are subject to applicable rates.

Electronic waste, household hazardous waste, Freon appliances and mattresses will not be accepted. For a list of non-acceptable items and information where these items can be disposed of appropriately, visit the city’s website.
