Congratulations to Mari Lemieux who has now become Alida’s young author at the age of 16, as she had her book The Sock Momster published, and it’s available at the 361 Café. Great story Mari and keep them coming.
Congratulations and best wishes to Logan Barrie and Christina Gervais who were married Aug. 19. An outdoor wedding was held in their yard on the Wood Mountain Reserve. It was a beautiful ceremony with three bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen, and their two sons, Lincoln and Bentley, as ring bearers.
There was approximately 90 people in attendance and the reception was held at the band hall. A bonfire and dance were then held back at the young couple’s residence.
Don and Linda Akins enjoyed a three-week holiday in which they visited daughter Melissa in Cranbrook, B.C.; son Ryan in Cochrane, Alta.; granddaughter Paige in Calgary; nephew Dean Mohrbutter and his granddaughter in Calgary; her brother Paul and Elaine Rogg at Pennant; and granddaughter Karly in Regina. They returned home Aug. 25.
Albert and Sheila Boutin are pleased to welcome their new grandchildren to the family – twin boys Frederick and Theodore who arrived save and sound on Aug. 25 to their parents Levi and Renee Lawrence.
Congratulations to Robbie and Shandi Boutin, who welcomed their new baby boy Porter Fraser on Aug. 26, and to proud big brother Calder as well as to grandparents Gille and Cheryl.
The Alida community extends its sincerest sympathies to Parry Peet and sons Wendal and Thomas on the death of his wife/their mother Lynette Peet, who passed away Aug. 27 at the age of 50. Arrangements are pending.
Aug. 28 was the last day of fun at the Alida Swimming Pool. They had lots of fun games, treats, hot dogs and movies planned, but the weatherman didn’t co-operate. There was a small crowd on hand to enjoy the festivities, eat hot dogs and to say good bye to the swimming pool for another year.
Back to school for students and staff on Sept. 1. Good luck to everyone this school year.
