ESTEVAN – is partnering with the and to host a Lunch N' Learn event aimed at connecting, educating, and empowering women entrepreneurs. The event will take place on April 3rd, 2025, at the Old Stone Inn in Estevan, offering a unique opportunity for local businesswomen to network and share a meal.
This will be WESK’s first-ever Rural Lunch N' Learn event, and Estevan Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Merissa Scarlett expressed pride in hosting the event in Estevan.
“This is a huge opportunity for Estevan and supporting our many women entrepreneurs. It’s an event for women entrepreneurs of all sizes of businesses, from home-based solo entrepreneurs to those who have several employees, to come out and meet other like-minded women in the community,” said Scarlett.
The event is set to run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will feature a lunch provided by the Old Stone Inn, along with a panel of three local women entrepreneurs. Attendees will also have access to resources aimed at supporting entrepreneurs. There is no charge to attend, but space is limited, and registration is required.
The three panellists for the event are Trina Battersby, owner of Prairie Pathway Services, Brady Friess, owner of Encompass Fitness Studio, and Christa Morhart, co-owner of JS Truckmart. Each panellist comes from a different stage of their entrepreneurial journey and represents different industries.
“The goal is for other women entrepreneurs to learn and be inspired by the stories of these three local entrepreneurs,” said WESK.
Attendees will also have the chance to connect with other entrepreneurs and explore resources available through WESK, Community Futures Sunrise, and the Estevan Chamber of Commerce.
“These organizations can provide loans, business start-up support, networking, and resources to guide you on your entrepreneurial journey. If you are starting out or curious to what exists for support, this is the event to attend,” added Scarlett.
