ESTEVAN - The 1100 and 1200 blocks of Fourth Street in Estevan will be shut down due to a water break.
A message for the city on the Voyent Alert App says the two blocks in downtown Estevan will be closed, starting at 8 a.m. on April 4, and they are expected to remain shut down until 4:30 p.m. on April 5.
The stretch of road is expected to be closed to traffic, and access around the site will be restricted. Back alleys are available to traffic.
The city is planning on replacing the undergrounds for the two blocks of Fourth Street later this year as part of a downtown revitalization project. The federal government has committed $7.75 million to the revitalization work through the Canada Coal Transition Initiative, administered by PrairiesCan. The city will pay $1.5 million for underground replacement work.
