ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service, along with Estevan Fire Rescue and EMS attended to a residential fire in the Royal Heights Trailer park on Feb. 25 in the evening.

No injuries were reported as occupants were out of the city, the EPS said in a media release. The fire was deemed to be not suspicious.

The same day the EPS received a report of an impaired driver leaving a local liquor store. An incomplete description of the vehicle was provided, however, police were not able to locate it to determine the driver’s sobriety.

Police also responded to a report of a man causing a disturbance at a local business. Members were able to mediate the situation, and the subject left without incident.

A caller reported that a missing youth had not returned home after school. While dispatch was gathering information, the youth walked into the residence and no further police involvement was necessary.

Two scam attempts were reported to EPS regarding a fraudulent STARS fundraiser.  The caller indicated that each winner had to pay fundraising taxes before receiving their prize. Neither party provided any personal information or money.

Earlier this week, EPS members attended to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Kensington Avenue and Rooney Road on Feb. 24.  Both vehicles were significantly damaged and required to be towed from the scene. Injuries to occupants from both vehicles were reported, and one of the drivers was issued an intersection related offence ticket.

A complaint of harassment directed at a local health service organization was also investigated, resulting in an individual being cautioned regarding his statements.
