ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service responded to a two-vehicle collision at King Street and Arthur Avenue on June 24.
No injuries were reported and one of the vehicles was towed from the scene. One of the drivers was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
EPS also has received several tips regarding Mackenzie Holmes who is currently wanted on charges from the Estevan police.
"Each tip is being followed up with and we would like to thank the public for providing information to assist," EPS said in a press release.
Police also received numerous calls to assist the community in the aftermath of the recent hailstorm. Residents reported downed power lines and associated damage and needed help as to how to report their claims.
A complaint was received regarding an individual riding a dirt bike on the west side of Estevan. The person is known to police and when a traffic stop was attempted, the driver fled from the scene. No pursuit was initiated as the identity of the driver was known. The matter remains under investigation and charges are pending.
Police received several reports of a suspicious person at various locations around the city. No criminal activity was identified, and police are aware of the identity of the person.
Police are investigating a report of a theft of a cellphone.
The same day members attended to an intrusion alarm at a local restaurant that was determined to be false.
A complaint of attempted fraud was received, in which the victim was contacted by someone posing as a representative of a credit card company. While confirming the information, it was determined that the caller was not a legitimate representative of the company. No loss occurred through this attempt, and the credit card company was notified to prevent any future attempts to fraudulently obtain funds.
Members responded to a report of a dog running at large. Officers identified the dog's owner and located the animal at its residence. The matter has been referred to the bylaw enforcement officer for additional follow-up.
