ESTEVAN - A man who was facing several charges including break and enter was sentenced to 180 days in jail in a recent court decision.
Tyler Mark Wyatt was facing a series of charges when he appeared in Estevan Provincial Court on Jan. 6, 2025.
For a Sept. 11, 2024 charge of resisting arrest, Wyatt pleaded guilty.
For Sept. 10, 2024 charges, he pleaded guilty to Count 1 - operating a conveyance while prohibited from doing so. Count 2 was stayed, for having in one's possession a motor vehicle with the value not exceeding $5,000 knowing that the property was obtained or derived directly by the commission of an offence punishable by indictment.
For a Sept. 13, 2024 charge, Wyatt pleaded guilty to Count 1: break and enter. For Count 2: escape from lawful custody, he also pleaded guilty. Count 3, for resisting arrest, was stayed.
In total, Wyatt will serve 180 days in jail on the charges to which he pleaded guilty.
He was also on a Community Service Order (CSO) for a separate charge.
When Wyatt goes to jail, the CSO will be suspended for the interim.
So, after he serves the 180 days, his CSO will resume.
Then, after serving the CSO, Wyatt will be on 12 months probation.
