ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service members attended to 68 occurrences over the weekend of June 14-16. Calls for service included reports of an assault, noise complaints, a theft of mail, mischief to a residence, fraud involving the sale of tickets to the Energy City Ex., road stops, an accident and the theft of a bicycle.

Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1100-block of Second Street on June 16. The female driver failed to provide an adequate sample of breath in the approved screening device. The 66-year-old Estevan woman was subsequently arrested and transported to the police station, where she was lodged in cells. She is facing Criminal Code charges for refusing to provide a breath sample and was released when sober, with a court date in August.

Members were also dispatched to a residence in the south end of the city for a report of a possible domestic in progress. While en route, one of the parties involved had left the scene. A traffic stop was conducted, and a man was arrested until members could attend the scene and speak with the other party involved. It was determined that an argument had taken place and nothing physical was reported. The man was released from the traffic stop and no further police involvement was required.

A hit-and-run between a semi/trailer and an SUV was witnessed and reported by a passerby at an intersection in central Estevan. No injuries were reported. The matter remains under investigation.
