ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service members arrested an Estevan man for assault and uttering threats on Dec. 11 after they were called to a residence in the Pleasantdale area. The individual was lodged in cells until sober and will be facing charges for assault and uttering threats.
EPS members also responded to two separate noise complaints last night. The people involved were warned about the bylaw.
A semi-tractor trailer unit was observed driving off the truck route and straight down Fourth Street through the downtown area. The driver was charged with operating his vehicle off the truck route under the City of Estevan traffic bylaw.
Police also issued a reminder to motorists noting that parking on Fourth Street in the downtown area is prohibited from 12 to 8 a.m.
Earlier this week, EPS received a complaint of youth operating vehicles erratically and stunting on a local business parking lot on Dec. 9. Members attended, monitored the parking lot for a period of time and spoke with several young drivers, however no concerning driving actions were observed at that time.
Multiple driving complaints were also received in which vehicles were reported to be driving too fast for road conditions. EPS would like to remind motorists to reduce speed and increase following distance between vehicles to reduce the potential for collisions during winter conditions.
On Dec. 10, EPS received a report of a suspicious man in an alley near Valley Street. Members attended and located the man who was determined to reside in the area.
Police received a Report an Impaired Driver (RID) call in relation to a grey Dodge Dakota going north on Highway 47. Members attended but were unable to locate the vehicle.
A report of a suspended driver believed to frequently operate a vehicle within the city was received. The individual was identified, and the matter is under investigation.
A theft from a locker at the Leisure Centre was reported. The matter is still under investigation, and EPS would like to remind the public to secure their belongings when leaving them in public access areas to deter theft of property.
