Estevan police apprehend impaired driver Wednesday

Police also called about a fraud over $5,000.

ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service apprehended an impaired driver Wednesday.

As a result of a traffic stop in the east end, a 57-year-old Bienfait man was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and driving while exceeding .08. His driver's licence was suspended indefinitely and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. He was subsequently released and will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

Police received a report regarding criminal harassment. The complainant has provided a statement and the matter remains under investigation.

The EPS received a complaint that a male was seen pushing two pedal bikes shortly after the caller had seen the same male riding a bike. The suspect was located and advised members that he had located the bicycle in a dumpster. The matter remains under investigation.

Officers assisted CPKC Police on Tuesday with traffic control as they repaired one of the crossing arms at the Sister Roddy Road railway crossing.

A report of a fraud over $5,000 was received by the EPS. Statements are being obtained and the matter remains under investigation.

Members were dispatched to a suspicious person observed at a vacant property. The subject was located and warned to remain off of private property.

Police received a report Monday of harassment. The complainant is to attend the police station and provide a statement.

Members, along with the Police and Crisis Team (PACT), were dispatched to conduct a well-being check on a male who was making some suicidal comments. The male was spoken to and offered services. PACT will conduct some follow-ups.

The EPS received a report of mischief to a vehicle. Statements were obtained and that matter remains under investigation.

An Estevan male was arrested for failing to abide by his conditional sentence order. He was released with a court date in early September.

Police received reports of thefts of personal items. Those matters remain under investigation.
