ESTEVAN — The Estevan Fire Rescue Service's members responded to an accident that occurred by Estevan on Good Friday, as well as other calls.

On March 29 at about 8.30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision that occurred eight kilometres east of the city. Crews responded and assisted with the response. No entrapments or injuries were reported as a result of that collision, said Estevan Fire Chief Rick Davies.

Earlier the same day, crews responded to a residential fire alarm that was triggered just before noon in the northeast area. Firefighters responded, quickly determined the alarm was cooking-related and confirmed the EFRS' assistance wasn't required.

Just 20 minutes later, another fire alarm was triggered in a residential property in the northwest part of the city. Crews responded and confirmed it was cooking-related as well, so their assistance wasn't required.

On March 25 at around 1:30 p.m., firefighters were called to a commercial fire alarm in the central part of Estevan. Crews responded, investigated and determined the alarm was also cooking-related. Firefighters ensured the property was properly ventilated, the alarm system was reset and no further assistance was required.
