ESTEVAN - Lots of activity was happening on the ice at Estevan's Power Dodge Curling Centre Jan. 17 and 18 during the annual Co-op Youth Bonspiel.
Six teams were entered in the U18 division. Team Fonstad defeated Team Brown in the gold-medal game, capping a great weekend for the Fonstad rink, as they went 2-0 in the round robin, and then defeated the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs' girls' team in the semifinal round.
Team Brown went 2-0 in their round-robin pool, and beat the ECS Elecs boys in the semifinal.
The Elecs boys beat the girls in the bronze-medal game.
Team Allen defeated Team Thompson in the fifth-place game.
Four teams were entered in the Rotating 4s division. Team Gritty Grippers, competing out of Estevan, finished first. They were the top team in the round robin at 3-0, and they defeated Team Toms from Carnduff in the gold-medal game.
Team On Pointe from Estevan won the bronze-medal game, defeating a team from Carievale in the final.
As part of Rotating 4s, the curlers alternate through the different roles on a team, from skip to lead.
