WEYBURN — The Â鶹´«Ã½AV East Cornerstone Public School Division's (SECPSD) board held an open business session on April 16.
The meeting, which was live streamed and open to the public, took just an hour to complete, but covered some important territories, including a 45-minute presentation on learning supports within the division. (Â鶹´«Ã½AV will have a future story on the presentation).
The board also approved a transportation appeal for a student that involved school bus accessibility.
A brief roundtable discussion at the opening brought forth a number of comments from board members and director of education Keith Keating. They attended school-based events and educational promotions and projects they were willing to share with other board members and the public.
While the April agenda was fairly light, it appears the May calendar is relatively full with various events that will engage the board members.
For instance, on May 6, the board has planned a strategic planning meeting that will be immediately followed by an annual session with their southeast Saskatchewan educational partners, the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division’s board. That will lead to additional information that will require responses and decisions.
Later in the month, on May 28, the board will conduct its regular in-camera session in the morning, followed by the public session in the afternoon and later that same day, the board will meet with the executive members of the Â鶹´«Ã½AV East Cornerstone Teachers’ Association.
