ESTEVAN - The City of Estevan says its roads and drainage division is actively attending to snow removal throughout the community following Tuesday's snowstorm.
Priority is being given to major roads and emergency routes, followed by secondary streets and residential areas. Crews will be working throughout Wednesday to ensure timely snow clearing, in order to reduce risks for motorists and pedestrians.

"With quickly declining temperatures, the City of Estevan would like to caution residents of the icy conditions and urges everyone to slow down and increase following distance during travel. If residents see an issue pertaining to roads or drainage throughout the winter season, please call 306-634-1800 to report a problem.

Meanwhile, members of the Estevan Police Service were kept busy Tuesday due to the winter storm that blasted Estevan and other areas of the province.
Police responded to a motor vehicle collision in west-central Estevan in which an eastbound vehicle slid off of the road and into a curb. The vehicle was towed as a result of the damage. No injuries were reported.
Members responded to another collision in east-central Estevan in which a vehicle lost control and struck a tree. That vehicle was also towed as a result of the damages. The EPS said the driver sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by Estevan EMS.
Many other minor collisions were also reported that did not require police attention. The public is reminded to slow down, drive with care and according to road conditions.
As for other police agencies in the southeast, the Carnduff and Carlyle RCMP detachments said they did not receive any calls Tuesday due to the storm.
The storm has forced the postponement of a couple of events. One is a home game for the Estevan Great North U18 AAA Bears, who were slated to host the Regina Pat Canadians Wednesday night at Affinity Place.
The other was the Saskatchewan - Canadian School of Hydrocarbon Measurement, which was to happen throughout the day Wednesday at the Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast College's Estevan campus.
