According to the advisory, falling snow, combined with southeast winds up to 40 kilometres per hour, gusting up to 60 km/h, would produce areas of near-zero visibility in blowing snow.

"Conditions will deteriorate midday Friday near the Alberta border. The snow and wind will spread southeast through the rest of the day. Conditions will begin to improve on Friday evening in the west and midday Saturday in eastern areas."

The advisory stated travel was expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.
