Mom was born on the family farm by Steelman, SK on March 17, 1933, the 8th of 10 children. She moved to Medicine Hat in 1952 and eventually met Clifford Nittel. They were married on June 12, 1954. Warren was born on June 20, 1955 and Patrick on October 2, 1956.Â
Tragically, Clifford died of a brain aneurysm on November 15, 1956. Albert Loustel- a neighbor from the farm- looked her up while visiting his parents in Medicine Hat and after a short courtship, they married on April 22, 1958 at Maryland R.C. Church by Steelman. They built a new house on Dad’s land north of Frobisher and moved in during November of 1958.Â
They settled into farm life. Dad adopted Warren and Patrick. Patricia was born on August 21, 1959 and Richard was born and died on July 13, 1960. Farm life was busy with gardening, lunches in the field, kids in sports, cooking, baking, driving truck during harvest and being a general go-for parts and other things Dad needed.Â
Mom enjoyed knitting and knitted many socks, mitts and sweaters; she also sewed many clothes for us. Mom and Dad retired to Saskatoon in the fall of 1983. They enjoyed trips to the Holy Land, Europe, the Maritimes, Alaska and California. After Dad died, Mom continued to live in her condo where she had many good friends. Faith was important to Mom, getting her through many trials of life.Â
In the fall of 2015, Mom was diagnosed with cancer and moved into Simona’s Care Home. We would like to thank the staff of Simona’s Care Home for the loving care they gave to Mom during the last 3 ½ months.Â
