HANSEL WEINMEISTER
ÌýÌý Hansel was born in Morden,
Manitoba on October 5, 1937 to
Reinhold & Mary (nee Hilder-
man) Weinmeister.Ìý
ÌýÌý During the 40’s they moved
back to the Yorkton area where
he was raised on the family
farm east of Yorkton. Hansel at-
tended Rosemount School until
Grade 8 and then Yorkton Col-
legiate. He married Patricia
Sherwin on November 26, 1960
in Yorkton. They had four chil-
dren together, Tracy, Shelly,
Rod & Tim.Ìý He worked various
jobs in the Yorkton area before
moving to Northern Ontario
where he was employed at a gold mine. After seven years in
Ontario they moved back to Yorkton.Ìý Over the course of his 26
year career with Federal Grain and SK Wheat Pool, he spent
time in Dunleath, Springside, Tonkin, Viceroy and Torquay.
While working in Torquay, Hansel and Pat Tendler began their
relationship together and resided on their farm for twenty three
years.Ìý In October of 2013 they moved into Assiniboia. In the lat-
ter part of his life as his health started to fail, he was not always
able to communicate due to his dementia.Ìý
ÌýÌý He was predeceased by his parents Reinhold and Mary; son-
in-law, Cal Allary.Ìý
ÌýÌý Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his four children &
families:Ìý Tracy (Larry Kaban), Cameron (Kelsey) & Lincoln &
Layne, Chad (Kellie) & Gabriel, Brett (Lyndsay) & Erin; Shelly
(Lester), Kaitlin (Aron), Joshua;Ìý Rod (Tammy), Chantel, Catlin,
Rynae;Ìý Tim (Teresa), Kennedy, Jensen, Ainsley.Ìý Spouse Pat
Tendler and his extended family: Troy (Elaine), Amber, Twylla;
Tim (Charlotte), Blaine, Sheldon, Lance.Ìý Also his brother Mervin
(Jeanette); his sister Janice (Keith) Sherwin, as well as his many
other relatives and friends.Ìý
ÌýÌý The funeral service was held on Friday, November 28, 2014
from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family CentreÌý with Pastor
Kim Sherwin officiating.Ìý The family tribute was given by Chad
Allary. All of Hansel’s grandchildren were the honorary bearers. Ìý
ÌýÌý The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with
Cameron Allary serving as the urnbearer. Ìý
ÌýÌý The cremation & funeral care was entrusted to Bailey’s Funer-
al Home.
