听听 Ethel was born August
12,1921.听 She peacefully found
her window at the age of 93 at
the City Hospital in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan.
听听 Ethel was survived by her sis-
ter Audrey; children Larry,
Joyce, Carol Ann (Murray) and
Dianna: grandchildren David,
Carey, Kelly, Bridget, Kristina,
Lisa, and Bradley: great grand-
children Norah, Hartley, Adam,
Zoe, Winter, River, Rain, Lake,
Sunny and Eddy.
听听 She was predeceased by hus-
band John Selk, parents Ernest
and Susan Wilson and sister Mary.
听听 Ethel was born in Benson, SK. living her childhood there,
meeting and marrying John Selk on March 17, 1942.听 They were
married 52 years.
听听 Ethel started singing at an early age and continued all her life.听
While living in Benson during the 30鈥檚 she worked with her fa-
ther and sisters in the post office. She followed her husband to
Regina then to the M&S Mines.听 While at the mines she served
as the church organist. 听
听听 The family moved to Estevan in 1958.
听听 She held various jobs in Estevan and was an active member
of the Harmony Unit holding many positions in her beloved
church.听 She sang in Saint Paul鈥檚 United Church for over 40
Years.听 She was know for her elephant collection, sewing and
knitting, she loved to travel, dance and chat with everyone she
met.
听听 In later years she bragged about her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. The last short years of her live she spent at the
Bentley Manor in Saskatoon.
听听 She was the thread that held our family together;she was the
center of our lives. She will be greatly and genuinely missed.
听听 There will be a 鈥淐elebration of Live鈥� in Estevan. at Saint Paul鈥檚
United Church on May 17 at 2pm. followed by lunch and the in-
terment.听 The officiate will be Reverend Brenna Nickle.听 In lieu of
flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
