UPDATE: Two tornado warnings issued Sunday in the southeast

Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes.

UPDATE: The latest tornado warning was lifted Sunday night.

For the second time on Sunday, a tornado warning was issued for parts of southeast Saskatchewan.

The latest warning was issued at 5:03 p.m. for the RM of Mount Pleasant, including Carnduff, and the RM of Reciprocity, including Alida. The warning was later extended to the RM of Argyle, including Carievale and Gainsborough. Warnings for Reciprocity and Mount Pleasant were later dropped, and he final warning for Argyle was lifted at 5:54 p.m. 

Environment Canada said its meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm that could produce a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally-intense rainfall were also possible.

"This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation."

A warning was issued at 4 p.m. for the RM of Mount Pleasant, and was lifted within the hour.

Severe thunderstorm watches were also in effect in the southeast Sunday, and several thunderstorm warnings were issued.
