Junior Rebels host successful Pink Jersey auction fundraiser

The Assiniboia Junior Rebels hockey team had a very successful fundraising month, while marking Breast Cancer Month in October. The team jerseys earned over $11,000 which will be donated to breast cancer research.

Sewing machines were busily humming at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church in Assiniboia on November 16. Members of the women’s auxiliary and other volunteers embarked on phase two of their pro­ject to sew dresses for impoverished children in Mexico.

Assiniboia Legion emphasizing the ‘unsung heroes’

Remembrance Day on November 11 is the biggest day of the year for the Assiniboia Branch No. 17 Legion. The Legion’s membership has been active selling wreaths to local businesses and poppies through its poppy drive.
