SASKATOON - While those within the city of Saskatoon can’t even fathom rain yet with so much snow still laying around from a winter that began in November as well as several late spring storms. However, Environment Canada is saying rain is a real possibility, in scattered pockets throughout west central Sask.
A low pressure system moving across the prairies is said to bring steady precipitation starting as early as April 8 and tapering off by April 9.
Spring melt is nearly complete in many areas of the province so the agriculture community will look to the skies for this hopeful additional moisture that could result in replenishing topsoil, crucial for the start of seeding season soon upon us.
While the system appears to be scattered at best, it won’t eliminate hopefulness for Mother Nature to provide the April showers that are counted on each prelude to growing season.
