SASKATOON — Yorkton City Council member Randy Goulden won her re-election bid during the 2025 Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association Convention and Trade Show on Tuesday, April 15, at TCU Place.
Goulden received 278 votes, or 58.4 per cent of the 476 total ballots cast, against the 198 (41.6 per cent) garnered by Maple Creek Mayor Michelle McKenzie during the election at SUMA’s meeting. She begins her four-year term after the end of the convention on April 16.
“I am pleased to be representing the 458 [SUMA] members. I am thankful to all the members after this election. I promise to do my best, considering that every time I walk into a room I promote urban municipalities,” Goulden told Â鶹´«Ã½AV.
Goulden has been a member of Yorkton City Council for over two decades, after being elected in 1997, and has become involved in provincial and national organizations that help bring forward the issues her community faces.
During her time with the City Council, Goulden has served on all committees and commissions while becoming involved with SUMA and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. She headed FCM’s Community Safety & Crime Prevention Commission.
She is also active as a community volunteer, serving as president of both Canadian and Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation, and has been involved in the Saskatchewan Winter and Summer Games, World Junior Hockey Challenge, and the Yorkton Sports Hall of Fame.
