WEYBURN - When people join together as a group, wonderful things can happen.

We have seen this happen in Weyburn time and time again.

We rally for causes, for illnesses, for celebration and for support. We volunteer –whether in small ways or large, we step up!

This Saturday, a small group of people with big hearts will hold a free community meal. The “Stronger Together Community Potluck” will be held April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Knox Fellowship Hall.

A potluck is a communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different, often homemade, dish of food to be shared.

However, for this meal, people are encouraged to join even if they are not in a position to bring anything.

There will be games, prizes, live music, and a free bread table. Bread and buns will be available for attendees to take home.

Everyone is welcome. Please come hungry and bring a friend or two.

When people gather together at such an event, the sense of community is fostered. The more this is done, the stronger the community becomes.

In a society where people often feel lonely and left out these events are crucial to our growth as a community and to our growth as individuals.

Hats off to the organizers of this event! I hope to see our readers this Saturday!
