Road closures, long-term Montague St. shutdown begin this week in Regina

Regina drivers can expect several road closures and traffic restrictions starting this weekend, including a two-month shutdown of Montague Street.

REGINA – Drivers in Regina are being advised of several road closures and restrictions beginning this weekend, including a long-term closure of Montague Street.

On Sunday, April 20, 11th Avenue will be closed between McIntyre Street and Lorne Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as crews complete work in the area. Francis Street will also be closed between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue during the same hours, along with a closure on 10th Avenue from McKay Street to Park Street.

On Monday, April 21, Montague Street will close between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue starting at 7 a.m. The closure is expected to last two months while a private contractor completes work.

Also on Monday, Ring Road will be restricted from Argyle Street to Broad Street beginning at 7 a.m. for a three-day project led by a private contractor.

On Tuesday, April 22, eastbound Victoria Avenue will be restricted between Elliott Street and Lindsay Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for scheduled maintenance.

Transit users are encouraged to check with Regina Transit for potential route or stop impacts due to the closures.

The City of Regina is thanking residents for their patience and is reminding drivers to slow down in construction zones.
