REGINA - Starting on Monday, the City of Regina will begin upgrading the Albert Street North Overpasses.

The city is planning to replace both, starting with the southbound overpass in 2025, followed by the northbound one in 2026.

The new structures will be raised to reduce potential damage from over-height vehicles and will include upgraded barriers and guardrails that meet modern safety standards," the city mentioned.

With these upgrades come construction and traffic restrictions. On Monday, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction across the northbound lanes.

Throughout the year, the northwest loop ramp will also be closed. In that event, the city will post signage to direct traffic towards an alternative route.

The city will utilize full Ring Road closures during the night and on weekends to ensure the safety of drivers and construction workers.
