REGINA  - Another festival in Regina isn’t coming back for 2025.

The Regina Fringe Festival has cancelled its plans for 2025 but plans to return in 2026.

The festival attracts local, provincial and national artists to the Queen City.

Board member William Hales says the curtain fell on this year's event because the organization missed the deadline for a large grant and learned one of its prime venues would be under renovation.

Artists who applied to appear at the festival have had their application fees refunded.

Hales says the plan is for the fringe to return in July 2026 and that the board is looking at new venues to host shows.

With the news, it’s the second festival Regina has lost in 2025, with the Regina Folk Festival announcing it’s shutting down.
