REGINA – A 27-year-old man who was wanted by Regina police for a 2022 homicide is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on April 7.

Amiir Abdullahi Hussen faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of Leslie Victor John Whitebear on March 15, 2022. Police say on that day they had responded to a report of an injured, unresponsive male lying outside a home on the 100 block of Davidson Crescent in the Whitmore Park area. He was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A year later, Regina police released a Crime Stoppers video featuring a photo of a suspect getting into a newer dark Volkswagen Tiguan asking the public for tips.

Earlier this year, Hussen was arrested by Edmonton Police Service. He has since been transported back to Saskatchewan and remains in custody.
