QUEBEC CITY - It has been announced that Operation Red Nose is resuming its annual safe rides home campaigns in Saskatchewan after two years of cancellations due to COVID-19.
It is the 14th annual road safety campaign in Saskatchewan, with motorists in Prince Albert, Yorkton, The Battlefords, and Saskatoon able to utilize the service between Nov. 25 and Dec. 31, 2022.
Those are among 75 communities across Canada where Operation Red Nose will operate this holiday season in their national campaign.
The campaign this year will see volunteers once again wear their red vests as they provide safe rides over the holiday season. As well, donations are accepted and turned over to local non-profit organizations to support youth or amateur sports initiatives.
In this province, SGI is again partnering with Operation Red Nose in raising awareness and promote responsible behaviour to prevent impaired driving. SGI has been supporting Operation Red Nose since it entered the province in 2009.
“The past few years have certainly been punctuated with important challenges and uncertainties, but we are very proud of our local host organizations for their tireless work. 2022 will mark a new beginning for many of them and we are grateful for all the work accomplished so far for the success of the upcoming campaign,” said Jean-Marie De Koninck, Founding President of Operation Red Nose, in a statement.
