REGINA — Public health orders mandating indoor masking and isolation requirements in Saskatchewan will be remaining in place through the month of November.
The public health orders, introduced on Sept. 17, were set to expire today but have been extended until Nov. 30 according to the provincial government.
The updated documents, signed by chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab, were shared online on the of the Sask. government’s website.
“This Order is necessary in order to reduce the burden on Saskatchewan's health care system, enable essential services to continue, and to reduce serious illness and overall deaths as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the document.
Indoor masking will continue to be required in all public spaces.
The 10-day self-isolation mandate for all residents who test positive for COVID-19 and all close unvaccinated contact will also remain.
No official statement about the extension has been made, at the time of publishing.
Premier Scott Moe did indicate, during September's announcement, that this public health order would be reviewed in October.
