It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenda Gail Miller on November 22, 2024. Glenda was born on December 10, 1950, in the old Weyburn Hospital (Mount St. Mary).
Glenda is predeceased by her father, Gordon Lansdell. She is survived by her loving mother, Hilda Lansdell, and her cherished children: Tammy Mooney (Danny), Kelly Mooney, and Shea Mooney. She was the proud grandmother of Taya Mooney, Eric Mooney, and Jade Glen. Glenda is also survived by her brothers, Mervin (Lorraine) Lansdell and Russell (Melanie) Lansdell, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will deeply miss her.
Glenda’s journey began in Weyburn, where she attended Souris School and graduated from Weyburn Collegiate in 1969. She continued her studies at the University of Regina in the Education Program for two years.
In 1971, Glenda married and moved to Calgary, Alberta, where her eldest daughter, Tammy, was born in 1973. Later that year, the family returned to Weyburn, where Glenda began working in the X-ray department at Weyburn Union Hospital. Glenda’s family grew with the births of Kelly in 1978 and Shea in 1981.
In 1983, the family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, where Glenda started working at Sweda Cash Registers Ltd. She later joined Saskatchewan Justice at the Regina Provincial Court House, where she rose to become the Office Manager for the Chief Justice of the Peace of Saskatchewan. After 27 years of dedicated service, she retired in 2017. During her career, Glenda also worked part-time for several doctor’s clinics in Regina.
In her retirement, Glenda remained active, working as event security staff at Evraz Place until the COVID-19 pandemic. She also worked as a lunch hour playground supervisor at Emerald Ridge Elementary School which became a huge passion for Glenda. She cherished her time at the school, surrounded by the staff, students, and her granddaughter Jade. It was a place that held a special place in her heart and brought her a lot joy.
Glenda was known for her kind and giving nature. She was a pillar of support to her family, always ready to lend a helping hand, especially to her mother after her father’s passing. Her love and dedication to her family were unwavering, and she never missed an opportunity to cheer on her grandchildren at Ringette games, Ball diamonds, horse events, and motocross races.
Glenda’s absence leaves a huge void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who brought light and love into every life she touched.
A celebration of Glenda’s life will be held on December 7, 2024, at 10:00am at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery.
