Theresa Wasylynuk, beloved spouse and mother, passed away peacefully at the Norquay Health Centre, Norquay, SK, on March 15, 2025, at the age of 94 years.
Theresa was born on October 27, 1930, in Poelcapelle, SK, to Leon and Mary (nee Nahachewsky) Kurytnik. She attended Poelcapelle and Arabella schools.
While growing up, Theresa helped on the family farm which included providing care for her eleven siblings. In 1949, Theresa married Peter Wasylynuk. Throughout their 45 years of marriage, they welcomed four children and farmed together in the Swan Plain District, SK. Theresa worked at the Norquay Hotel and later farmed alongside Peter.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, watching sports, Bingo, playing cards, and volunteering at church. Those who knew her, loved her. She was caring, compassionate, selfless, loyal, and supportive. Her quiet smile and love will be missed, and she will be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Leon and Mary Kurytnik; husband, Peter Wasylynuk; daughter, Diane; sister, Albina (Blondie); and brothers, Mike, Victor, and Steve. She is lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; brothers, Darold (Kathy) and Louis (Cathy); and her sisters, Darcia, Mary (Peter), Emily, Phyllis (Danny), and Geraldine (Gordon); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A Funeral Service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025, from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK, with Rev. Fr. Yurii Obukh officiating. Interment followed in the Canora Cemetery, Canora, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Theresa Wasylynuk.
