Leipzig farmer Ed Keller won the Liberal nomination for Battleford-Kindersley on the third ballot.
Betty Housen, Doreen Leslie, Theresa Mitchell and Sylvia Maljan won the Wilkie Ladies’ Curling Club open bonspiel, with Betty Mann, Mary Kinnee, Donna Nyholt and Doris Dillabough taking second.

The Luseland atoms, coached by Dennis Knorr and Keith German, defeated Wilkie One to win the Hi-way 14 League championship.
The window project in the lobby of the Wilkie arena was underway with volunteers taking down the existing wall between the lobby and the ice surface.
Volunteers in Unity were also working on arena renovations, removing boards in order to enlarge the ice surface both in length and width.
Blais Inc. in Unity offered Case IH multi-purpose grease for $2.15 a tube as part of their agriculture spring parts sale.
Winning individual awards at the regional drama festival were Unity Composite High School students Jackie Long, acting excellence; Lisa Reiter, acting excellence; and Christine Ryan, excellence in stage management. Roxane Mamer directed the UCHS play, “When Shakespeare’s Ladies Meet,” which won runner-up to Best Overall Performance.
