Unity RCMP kept busy with 41 calls July 11-17

Two false alarms, five traffic complaints and three false 9-1-1 calls round out 41 calls received by Unity RCMP Detachment noted in the weekly policing report for the period July 11-17

Unity Report

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint.

Police received another Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint.

Members received a report of an individual urinating in public. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of trespassing. Members spoke to the subjects of the complaint and issued a verbal warning.

Police received a report of a barking dog. Members attended but could not hear the animal barking.

Members acted as mediators in a dispute between two adults.

CN Police reported a train blocking a railway crossing. Reported for information purposes.

RCMP received a complaint of fraud but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a complaint of a suspicious person in a rural area near Salvador. Members located the subject of the complaint and issued a verbal warning.

Members received a report of a lost wallet. The wallet has not been located.

RCMP received several complaints of youth knocking on residence doors and running away. Members patrolled but could not locate the subjects of the complaint.

Police received several reports of an individual walking on the highway. Members located the subject of the complaint who was hitchhiking to another community.

A 22-year-old man from Unity was charged with failing to comply with release order conditions during a traffic stop.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint.

Police received another Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint.

There were also two false alarms, two traffic complaints and two false 911 calls.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a complaint of theft but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a broken lock at a building. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members acted as mediators in a family dispute.

RCMP attended the sudden death of a 71-year-old woman from the Wilkie area. The death was not suspicious in nature.

Police received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members transported the subject of the complaint to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.

Members received a complaint of fraud. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of a porta-potty on fire near McLurg High School. The fire was extinguished by Wilkie Fire Department. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

There were also three traffic complaints.

Macklin Report

RCMP acted as a mediator in a neighbour dispute.

CP Police reported a cow near the railway tracks. The animal was moved by the owner.

Members attended a single-vehicle collision north of Macklin. There were no injuries, and no charges were laid.

A 35-year-old man from Macklin was charged with failure to comply with release order conditions after members received a traffic complaint.

Police received a report of trespassing at a residence. Members attended and the residence was secure.

RCMP received a complaint of suspicious individuals at a business. Members attended and spoke to the subjects of the complaint.

A 26-year-old man from Macklin was charged with assault after members received a complaint of a domestic dispute.

Police are investigating another complaint of assault.

Macklin Fire Department reported a transformer on fire in Macklin. Members attended. The fire was not suspicious in nature.

Members assisted an individual in locating transportation.

There was also one false 911 call.
