UNITY -- For the Unity Fire Department, a few calls were attended throughout the month of November. One call was made by EMS, who requested a lift assist of a patient, along with another call for a power pole fire.
A grass fire was reported, and Chief Dwaine Kopp wants to remind everyone that it is quite dry.
“Please wait until we get some snow or some sort of decent moisture before burning refuge pits,” said Kopp.
Another call for a small structure fire was attended to, where a heater was involved.
“As we come into the holidays and colder weather, make sure outlets are not being overloaded,” warns Kopp.
Two calls for residential fire alarms turned out to be false.
Two members attended an advanced vehicle extraction course, which was hosted by the Wilkie and District Fire Department.
“We want to thank them for allowing us to participate in the additional training, it is great when all the fire houses can work together,” added Kopp.
