UMP Ltd general manager retires after 24 years with company

With 40 years of car industry knowledge, Brian Woytiuk accelerates into retirement.

UNITY – Brian Woytiuk, a long-time worker within the car industry with 40 years under his belt has retired from Unity Motor Product Ltd on March 28. Woytiuk spent a total of 24 years working for Unity Motor Product Ltd and has nothing but fond memories from all of them.

He said being able to work in a small, tight-knit community was one of the best things to happen to him throughout his career. Explaining that small-town Unity is a great place to live, he is quite fond of the community around him. Woytiuk says the thing he will miss most about his time working is the people, his staff, and being involved within the community. When asked about what he will not miss—because everybody has their something—he explained with life, there are things you don’t enjoy, but he would like to focus on everything good that came from all his time with the company and the industry itself.

Throughout his years, he was involved with brands like Ford, GMC, Toyota, etc., Woytiuk’s personal recommendation for a vehicle for both first-time buyers and returning shoppers is a full-size SUV. He’s found them to be his personal favourite kind of vehicle over the years.

A retirement party was held on March 28 for Woytiuk, which was well-received and greatly enjoyed. Although, with his retirement, he’d like to tell the youth who are interested in becoming part of the car industry, it is a good industry to be involved in, adding it served him well. He believes the car industry is something you should enjoy and be interested in and you should enjoy the people that you work with, coworkers and customers alike. “It’s an important part of a prosperous career.”

Going into retirement is a rather large change, bringing an end to a long but enjoyable chapter of his life. The closing of one chapter, however, brings about the opening of the next one. Woytiuk explained he has some property and the next chapter for him looks like purging items, eventually selling the property and moving to Meota Regional Park, located along the south shores of Jackfish Lake, northwest of North Battleford.
