LUSELAND — Traveller Pierre Beauregard found out just how friendly locals are when he found himself walking his bike and trailer down a soft gravel road. Truck driver, Frank Hofer, picked up Beauregard near the town of Dorothy, and gave him more than just a quick lift.
Beauregard and Hofer started to chat during the drive, and the story Beauregard had to tell is an intriguing tale. Beauregard, Granby, Que., has partaken in the Lake Placid Ironman 11 times/ He wanted to challenge himself by going to Juneau, Alaska for the Alaska Ironman. He decided to combine his love of outdoors and his speaking presentation “The Joyful Approach to Challenges: Always Winning” as he travelled across the country.
The presentation had been an idea that he had for over 10 years.
“It’s an oddly joyful and positive approach to all life challenges”, Beauregard says.
Through his journey, he has done 21 official presentations, as well as 34 house presentations. He is also taking bookings as he continues home.
He called his adventure the Crazy Tour, as he knows crossing the country and back to perform at an Ironman Triathlon is crazy, and if you ask some of his friends and family, they may say Beauregard is a little loco.
He has had amazing experiences, including how open-minded people he has met are. He has also run across a mother bear and her three cubs. He expects to be back in Granby Nov. 18, and invites everyone to follow his tour, to book a presentation or get a copy of his book through his French/English website www.pleinairenor.ca.
