WILKIE — Brock Harrison of the Wilkie Outlaws became the all-time points leader of the Sask West Hockey League, Nov. 3, 2023. Joe Cey, president of the SWHL, presented him with a special plaque at the Outlaws’ home game and wing night, Dec. 23, in recognition of this milestone.
The previous all-time points leader was Darcy Morrice of the Eston Ramblers. Morrice played 11 seasons with Eston and retired from the league with 369 points.
Harrison jumped into first place in the all-time standings with seven points in the Outlaws’ Nov. 3 game against Macklin. With some seven games in the interim, by Dec. 23, Harrison was at 390 points before the puck drop in that final 2023 home game against the Edam 3 Stars, where he was credited with two assists to end the year at 392.
Harrison joined the Outlaws in 2014, making this his ninth season as there were no games played in the league in 2020-21. Prior to being an Outlaw, Harrison played four winters of senior hockey with the Rosthern Wheat Kings where he racked up another 158 points.
In the current season, as of Jan. 9, Harrison had 30 points, just behind Outlaw teammate Brett Boehm’s 32. Jonathon Redlich of the Biggar Nationals holds third place with 27, followed by Macklin’s Jeremy Boyer at 26. The next two spots on the leader board also go to Wilkie: Rory Gregoire and Rick Cey each with 25.
