WILKIE - Kabri Sittler, 2020 McLurg graduate, who is a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's wrestling team, captured a silver medal at the Can-West USports championship held March. 12.
Sittler saw much success with both McLurg wrestling and Gorilla Wrestling based out of Wilkie. She was signed by the U of S wrestling team in 2020 but the team was in a pandemic prescribed pause for much of her U of S seasons. Athletes were more than happy to return to competition. The Can-West event was hosted by the U of S Huskies.
"It was pretty exciting to compete in front of our home crowd, which included former teammates and my high school coach. It was a great experience for me as a first-year eligible athlete and it was nice to finally get to compete this year," said Sittler
Trey Pernitsky, another McLurg graduate and part of USask sports, will compete in track events at Can-West championships March 18-19 weekend.
