LUSELAND ‑ After a year without shows due to COVID-19, in the 41st year of bringing live performances to Luseland, the Luseland Arts Council made the decision to return for this year.
LAC is a member of the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils dedicated to bringing artists and musicians to the community of Luseland and surrounding areas.
Nine volunteers who love music and live performances make up the LAC, and they say they are excited to be back in the community. While this group held much discussion around the pros and cons of offering live shows with the unknowns surrounding the pandemic still in our midst, the decision was made to forge ahead.
Early November will see their first concert featuring Over the Moon and some easy-going country music. Three other shows are booked for this season including singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Royal Wood, with the season wrapping up with a lively show of step dancing and fiddle music provided by the Fitzgeralds.
The LAC says in addition to the live music performances coming to Luseland, they are also hosting their annual marketplace craft sale in late November. This community arts council wanted something for the community to look forward to in the coming months and they say that’s what fuelled their desire to see the return of their activities this fall/winter.
Sept. 12, the LAC hosted several local talents including Will Ballantyne, Chris Williamson, Janet and Dan Fischer and Paula Ross as part of their Harvest Festival outdoor activities. Earlier this year, LAC provided virtual concert series on their Facebook page.
