The Village of Leipzig was awarded a grant from the provincial government for test drilling and to develop a 413-foot deep well, complete with pumping equipment. The grant enabled the village to proceed with installation of a community water and sewer system.
The Albert Pantel rink of Luseland won the Knights of Columbus district mixed bonspiel. The other members of the rink were Lawrence and James Meier and Agnes Obrigewitch.
SaskPower announced they would be building a $13 million power station at Landis. It would consist of two 50-megawatt gas turbine generators and a one billion cubic foot natural gas storage cavern. Final completion of the project was expected in 1976.

Landswest School Division held a public meeting in Unity to explain the rationale for closing Unity Public School and moving all students to the high school. The meeting was attended by about 100 residents, the vast majority of whom were opposed to the closure.
The Wilkie Pee Wee girls’ hockey team won their home tournament. Many of the girls had not played hockey before joining the team, which was coached by Harold Cey, assisted by Kent Ferguson of Landis.
The Unity Wagon Wheels held a 45th anniversary dance at the Unity Community Centre, with food, dancing and ceremonies. Alice Wagner presented caller Ken Brownlee with a 45-year Canadian Square Dance and Round Dance Society certificate, and Brownlee reciprocated by presenting Wagner with a 45-year Wagon Wheel club certificate.
