SASKATOON - A man is facing a number of weapon-related charges following a cab ride Saturday night in Saskatoon.
At approximately 9 p.m., Jan. 18, Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) was dispatched to a home in the 1400 block of 1st Avenue North for a weapons call. It was reported to police that when a cab driver completed a trip, the suspect passenger pointed a gun at the driver instead of paying the fare. When officers arrived, the suspect exited the home and was arrested. A search warrant was executed at the home where police located and seized an imitation firearm.
The 22-year-old man is facing four weapons-related charges including pointing a firearm. He also had multiple outstanding warrants and was charged with obstruction and breach of probation.
