SASKATOON — One man was transported to hospital following a serious snowmobile collision Thursday evening.

At around 6 p.m. on Nov. 21, Saskatoon police were called to the area of 14th Street East and Spinks Drive for a report of a snowmobile collision with injuries.

Upon arrival, officers observed an overturned snowmobile with its operator, a 50-year-old man, suffering from serious injuries a short distance away, says the news release. Continued investigation determined that the snowmobile was being driven at a high rate of speed in an alley behind Spinks Drive when it lost control and overturned. The operator was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services West with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate.
