Lotto winner Wayne Mullaly says the biggest gift is getting to help out family members.

SASKATOON  Wayne Mullaly has been struck with a Lightning Lotto jackpot win of $395,005.60.

The Lloydminster local purchased his ticket when he stopped at a convenience store and left his wife in the vehicle to wait.

The jackpot win came up instantly on screen.

“The cashier scanned it at the store, and she couldn’t even speak,” he said. “She was shaking and excited and handed me the ticket and then I got excited too!”

“I waved my ticket to my wife as she was sitting in the truck — she thought I forgot my wallet,” he laughed. “She came in to help pay for the tickets and I said, ‘Look at this!’ and showed her the amount.”

The two couldn’t believe their eyes. They asked the cashier if it was real.

“They clapped for us on our way out of the store,” Mullaly said.

The winner said he plans to focus on spoiling his kids and grandkids with his recent windfall.

“I’m definitely not going on a shopping spree!” he chuckled. “At this point in our life, there’s nothing really we need.”

Mullaly said the biggest gift is getting to help out family members.
