SASKATOON - A man has been arrested following a weapons complaint yesterday in Saskatoon.
At approximately 3:15 p.m. on March 5, police were called to a mall in the 3500 block of 8th Street East for a report of a man that had threatened mall security with a bladed weapon. Upon arrival, police located a man matching the suspect’s description on a nearby city bus; as officers effected his arrest, the man allegedly kicked a Constable several times. Following a search of his person, the suspect was found to be in possession of a folding knife.
As a result, the 37-year-old man has been charged with unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon to commit an offence, assault with a weapon (x2), assaulting a police officer, and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions.
