SASKATOON — Four men were arrested following an armed break and enter early Friday morning.
At around 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 22, Saskatoon Police Service members were called to the 300 block of Avenue R Â鶹´«Ã½AV for a report of a break and enter in progress and possible gunshot being heard in the area.
The suspects were reported to have fled the scene in a black truck prior to police arrival.
Continued investigation determined that four armed men had broken into a residence and assaulted an occupant before fleeing the scene, said SPS in a news release. The victim then left the residence and self-attended to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries before police arrived on scene.
Following a search of the area, officers located a truck matching the description of the suspect vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of further investigation, the four occupants of the truck were arrested without incident and a search of the vehicle found various bladed weapons and an imitation firearm believed to have been used in the break and enter.
The four men, age 31, 23, 17, and 15, are facing a combination of weapons-related charges in addition to aggravated assault. The 17-year-old man was also found to be in violation of court-ordered conditions.
