Dear Editor
In just a few short weeks voters in Saskatchewan will be electing a new government. If you believe the latest polling numbers, the Saskatchewan Party has a large lead among decided voters.
The challenge the Saskatchewan Party will face before election day, is keeping the voter's minds on glitz and charisma and not on policy. There is a great deal at stake in this next election and that is why it is critical all policy options be heard and debated.
It will be a disservice to the voters if only the premier and NDP leader Dwain Lingenfelter are included in any leader debates. Granted, it is impossible to have participation from all the political parties in Saskatchewan, however having Rick Swenson, PC Party leader, and Ryan Bater, Liberal leader, take part in the debates would make sense to me.
Both the Progressive Conservative Party and the Liberal Party have governed Saskatchewan in the past and can offer policy options that the other two parties cannot. After all, an informed voter will make an informed decision on election day.
