Dear Editor
Perhaps the Battlefords could try curtailing obnoxious ATV use the way Thornhill did.
One weekend last fall, RCMP pounced all over illegal behaviour. The courts handed out several almost $1,000 fines for misbehaviour such as driving without a license, driving without insurance, riding without a helmet and doing wheelies in the street.
Since then we have had only rare instances of ATVs keeping us awake at 3 a.m. or popping up out of the ditch to cross the road in front of motorists.
In British Columbia we have the laws. They need only be enforced by police and courts.
