What an exciting prospect to hear Terry Bradshaw is showcasing the Battlefords in the TV show , Today in America.
Perhaps this will give more incentive to the City to support the Community in Bloom project and other upgrades. The plantings we see every summer continue to impress our visitors and I applaud the parks department for participating in this beautification process. But we can do more.
The City has an under-utilized greenhouse at their disposal, which for many years has not been used to its full potential.
I'm hoping the City will do their part to paint the light stands, straighten out signage, pick up garbage and so forth. I'm hoping the City encourages business owners, especially those with buildings in disrepair, to upgrade their buildings, even if it is to paint the front and clean the windows.
There are surrounding towns that are further ahead and it would be great if the first impression of the Battlefords would be "That's a place I'd like to visit."
A little sprucing up goes a long way.
